Universes, Causal Trees

Material reality: a causal tree whose all nodes descend from a common root (God).

In this sense, all nodes share the ultimate substrate, but each node's substrate is the previous node.

Leibniz's question is impossible to answer. Only appropriate to call the root node God. Corollary: nothing is not a thing.

What can the causal tree model?

Constitution and derivation, for sure. Metaphysics.

But human action?

Well, two parents met and they had a child. The previous actions leading to this birth made the event necessary. Two nodes, each of their actions as nodes… The parents exist independently. They interact with one another through actions. How do those nodes converge?

Actions with shared substrate. Those action result in something… the child being born. The edges link to one descendant.

A causal DAG?

Problem: that convergence of nodes.

Each human has their own universe. The only unifier between all is suffering (the necessary derivation of material reality).

The collision of universes. The reason why grace is costly (reconstituting a universe).

Each contingent universe… Their fold over substrate events. Their interpretation their contingent reducer.

Each live in different universes, each share the same substrate. Collision, or interaction. Individual agents folding over the event log with their own reducers.

Grace, or the reconstitution of a previous node.

universe = (fold-events grace-reducer substrate-events)

Re-reduction of entire event log. Computationally expensive and existentially expensive.

Problem of human interaction is the collision of disparate universes. Populist rhetoric reiterates the same idea in simple terms as an attempt to overcome the cost of reconstitution. Nothing that harms the interiority can be grace. Successful propaganda aims to create shared nodes across universes (culture, government). Propaganda is shallow and short-lived… it never truly reconstitutes.

What is a universe?

What a dreadful thing I chose to do.

Grace exists in a deterministic universe. Orthogonal to causality.

Horizontal axis: events causing events (necessity) Vertical axis: consciousness interpreting events (grace)

Same substrate, different reducer: different universe.

A beaten child: beating is immutable (event log).

Grace as the reducer to view it as structural necessity, not personal… O(N) rewrite of his life: expensive. 11 years of trauma: 4015 re-reductions.

This is why healing is rare.
